As profits hit 10-year lows, U.S. hospitals are heading overseas in search of growth. Their top target? China, which is seeing an uptick in chronic diseases as its population ages. American hospitals are eyeing everything from consulting arrangements and franchise deals to outright acquisitions, according to The Wall Street Journal. Chinese hospitals get the prestige of American medical institutions, and U.S. hospitals get a fresh revenue source and new research partners.
