WhatsApp Sets Limits to Stop Rumors

Facebook’s WhatsApp will limit the ability of people to forward messages to large groups. The move is as an attempt to curb fast-spreading and sometimes violence-inducing rumors on the messaging platform, reports BBC news. People in India will face some additional restrictions, including the removal of a “quick forward” button. Two dozen people have been killed this year in India by groups acting on rumors spreading on WhatsApp, reports the Washington Post.
